Star Wars Battlefront Mobile
Having already announced and released a number of Star Wars titles for wireless phones, THQ continues the onslaught with the newest mobile game based on the best-selling Star Wars game of all time, Star Wars Battlefront.
In Star Wars Battlefront Mobile there are two campaigns featured that allow you to take part in either the Clone Wars or the Galactic Civil Wars. Once chosen, you must select which side to fight for. In the Clone Wars you can fight for the Grand Army of the Republic or for the Confederacy of Independent Systems. In the Galactic Civil War, you must choose between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance.
Campaigns take place in 15 distinct Star Wars locales including the Jedi Temple, Endor, Coruscant and the Death Star. Each locale will then be divided into different sections for over 75 playable levels.
Users start off as a rookie foot soldier with little experience and influence over the war. By battling enemy forces, you will earn control points that add to your rank and faction??™s cumulative score. These control points dictate which faction has a greater control of the battleground at any time. As your faction gains more victories or enemy kills, control begins to sway to your side. Of course, opposing players and factions will try to stop that from happening and turning the war on you.
Battles take place in a third-person perspective and computer-controlled enemies are shot by positioning a reticule over them and firing. Vehicles are also available, such as Snow Speeders and AT-AT??™s and these will deliver damage to multiple enemies at once. The more enemies you dispose of, the more control points you??™ll accumulate. Eventually, your rank will increase enough to also affect other members of your faction and gain control of the area.
The game is strictly a multiplayer online experience that takes place in real-time and is constantly changing based on the actions of all players playing at any moment of the day. In-game tickers are continuously updated to show you how the war is going or to inform you where reinforcements are needed. It??™s a very dynamic world that will surely envelope not only Star Wars fans and Battlefront fans, but those interested in taking part in a truly connected gaming experience. |
